Group Volunteer Information

We’re excited that your group is interested in volunteering at the Humane Society of Barron County! Group volunteer projects are a great way to support the shelter while working together to make a difference for the animals in our care.

To help us prepare for your visit, please have each member of your group complete the two forms below prior to your volunteer day. This page link can be easily forwarded to your group so each participant can fill out the forms individually.

Please note that groups or volunteers participating for a single day or specific project who have not completed our full volunteer onboarding and training are not able to work directly with the animals. This helps ensure the safety and wellbeing of our animals and aligns with our shelter policies and Fear Free standards.

That said, there are still many meaningful ways for groups to help. Common group projects often include yard work, brush cleanup, donation sorting, organizing supplies, preparing enrichment items, cleaning and organizing storage areas, facility improvement projects, painting, maintenance tasks, and preparing materials for our pet food pantry.

These projects make a huge difference in helping our staff focus more time on animal care, and we truly appreciate your group’s willingness to lend a hand. We look forward to welcoming you to HSBC! 🐾

All group volunteers are required to review and sign the Volunteer Agreement, Risk Acknowledgement, and Photo Policy prior to participating. These forms ensure everyone understands expectations, safety guidelines, and how photos may be used to support our mission. Completing these documents ahead of time helps your group get started quickly and ensures a safe, organized, and positive volunteer experience.
