Hello
We're so glad you're here!

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. We rely on volunteers for nearly everything we do, and their time, energy, and compassion make it possible for us to care for the animals and serve our community every day.
Adult Volunteers
Adult volunteers play a role in every aspect of the work we do at HSBC, and the possibilities are nearly endless.

We are proud to operate as a Fear Free Shelter. This means that all staff and volunteers who interact with animals are required to complete Fear Free Shelter Certification, and participate in hands-on training before working directly with the animals in our care. This training is completed through an online course that typically takes five to six hours to finish. The certification helps ensure that every interaction with animals is focused on reducing stress, increasing comfort, and supporting their emotional wellbeing while they are with us.
Volunteer opportunities may include:
-
Walking dogs
-
Providing enrichment for dogs and cats
-
Assisting with direct animal care
-
Helping with lawn and outdoor work
-
Transporting animals or supplies
-
Supporting fundraising and community events
-
Assisting with administrative tasks
-
General shelter maintenance and organization

Whether you prefer to work with animals, help behind the scenes, or support our outreach and fundraising efforts, there is a role that can fit your interests and schedule.
