🐾 Announcing the
“Pet Mayor of Barron County” Fundraiser🐾
Hosted by the Humane Society of Barron County
Are you tired of endless campaign calls, political ads, and gridlocked debates? Us too. So we decided to flip the script and bring you an election you can actually enjoy — one filled with paws, fluff, feathers, and fun.
🗳️ What’s this all about?
For a $10 nomination fee, you can enter your beloved pet into the first‐ever “Pet Mayor of Barron County” race. Whether it’s a dog, cat, rabbit, hamster, parrot, or even a dignified turtle — if they’ve got personality, we want them! Submit a short description of:
-
their distinguishing characteristics (fluffy tail? regal whiskers? unbeatable head-tilt?),
-
their “political platform” (more snacks? universal belly rubs? nap reform?)
…and we’ll put them on the ballot.
🗓️ Timeline
-
Nominations Open: Now
-
Nominations Close: Election Day — November 4
-
Voting Period: November 5 through November 16
🐶 How the voting works
Once nominations close, the fun begins:
-
Vote for your favorite candidate at $2 per vote.
-
Each vote goes directly to support the Humane Society, so every vote helps the animals.
-
There’s no policy debate, no filibuster — just cuteness, campaigns, and the sweetest election you’ll ever participate in.
🎉 What the winner gets
The lucky pet who earns the most votes will be crowned Pet Mayor of Barron County, and will enjoy:
-
A one-year mayoral term, filled with naps, love, and official bragging rights.
-
Their official mayoral photo will be proudly displayed at the Humane Society for that full year.
-
The joy of knowing they helped raise critical funds for the animals in our care.
